But Sarah didn’t hear the rest of Martha’s words. All she could see was a tall handsome young man with gorgeous brown eyes like chocolate pools that drew her in, dressed in an army-green-colored cashmere Henley with dark blue jeans that molded to his frame.
This was one handsome dude. As much as Sarah shied away from relationships, she still appreciated a great piece of eye candy when she saw one.
“I believe we’ve met.” His rich voice swirled and tickled her insides as his eyes twinkled with mischief.
Sarah’s heart beat faster. “Are you sure?” She couldn’t recall seeing this face, though a thought niggled at the back of her mind that she had. But she brushed the thought away. She surely would remember a face this gorgeous.
“You really can’t remember?” He shook his head in disbelief at her blank expression. “We met earlier today at the Prestige Mall parking lot.”
Parking lot? Sarah’s thoughts raced to put the pieces together. She hadn’t really met anyone at the mall except … No way, it couldn’t be. The psychopath?
She peered at him, and her face heated. It was really the guy in the vintage truck! He was no longer wearing the beanie and the sunglasses. She’d been relieved to discover his truck was no longer in the parking lot, and she never thought she’d see him again.
Sarah felt her neck and ears grow impossibly hot. The director had just called him “wonderful,” a term she didn’t use lightly. Martha had always been a great judge of character for as long as Sarah could remember. Which meant Sarah had judged him wrongly. This was terrible.
“Parking lot?” The director looked from Sarah to Phillip.
Sarah quickly locked eyes with Phillip and pleaded with him not to tell the director.
