Blake jumped out of his car and drummed his fingers on its roof as he waited for his turn. He craned his neck over the cars to see if there were any available valets, but there were none.
Just then, he heard a shout. He turned his head to see a dark-haired, long-legged beauty hollering like a banshee and headed full speed in his direction. If he wasn’t in a hurry, it would have been amusing. As she got closer, Blake could barely make out what she was saying. “Hey, you!” he heard her yell.
Blake looked behind him. There was no one standing there. It seemed he was the target of this human tornado.
The young lady barreled closer with her hair whipped all over her face—he couldn’t make out her features. Her stained medical coat failed to hide her lithe, gorgeous figure.
Blake felt a jolt in his system, and his heart raced. She was stunning, even though she seemed mad about something.
He sucked in a quick breath. What’s going on? he thought. It had been a long time since he’d felt this way.
“Here you go,” a voice said beside him, bringing him back to reality. A young man in a valet uniform held out a ticket to him. Blake gave him a brief smile and accepted the ticket for his car keys.
